Symphony Honolulu glass to remain as it is

Despite being deemed “too shiny”, the Symphony Honolulu glass tower exterior will remain. The rule has been deemed unenforceable by Hawaii Community Development Authority (HCDA). Therefore the HCDA cannot force developer Oliver-McMillian to alter the exterior.

In exchange the HCDA has accepted a $1million to mitigate the damages from the over-sight. Oliver-Millian also was required to pay additional fines. 801 South is also suspected of being too shiny by the building standards.
