Waihonua a great buy in one of the newest condos

Recently having sold a rare one bedroom unit at the Waihonua, I have re-discovered the uniqueness and the value at the Waihonua. Completed at the end of last year,  the prices have risen, but with few new condos on the market, it is one of the best ways to own a “new” condo without waiting years for the next completed condo.

Location – Kakaako

The location, amenities and interior appointments are key. The location being so close to Ala Moana Center and with in the Popular Kakaako neighborhood is ideal. The new Ewa Wing will open in a couple of months and in the next few years Hawaii’s largest Whole Foods will open couple of blocks away. Surprisingly this is still just a short walk to Ala Moana Beach Park. This area has become “the” place to be. furthermore as the area develops with Howard Hughes corp and farther away with Kamehameha Schools’ projects, this area will be under going a massive transformation.

Waihonua amenities

The amenities and the services also are a part of what makes this condo stand out. My favorite amenities at this condo include the fitness center, the pool deck and the staff! The fitness center is a long room with lots of glass. The room being long seems to give a little more privacy to you are able to have a little solitude during your workout. The pool deck is one of the nicest decks at a condo today. There are many cabanas surrounding the outside for lounging and meeting with friends. The deck feels modern and clean and the pool is rather large so people have the space to move around and play. The barbecue stations are also close by so barbecuing, eating, and swimming are closer together. Then finally the best part is the staff. Everyone is friendly, knowledgable, and really make the building feel more like a home.

Waihonua Interiors

The unit interiors in this Kakaako condo building are quite nice. In my opinion the best aspects are the floor to ceiling glass, the beautiful matte finish engineered hardwood floors, the Bosch appliances and the air conditioning with zones. If you can, make sure to get a lanai which are on unit on the odd numbered floors on the makai (ocean) side of the building.

There are mostly 2 bedroom units and some one-bedroom and 3 three bedroom units. I personally think the best units are the one bedrooms and the high floor 2 bedroom units. There is some view obstruction from Hawaiki condo, Nauru Tower and 1350 Ala Moana, however, if you get high enough then you see over 1350 Ala Moana and the view is lovely. I also like the 2 bedroom units facing towards the mountains. These are nice new units and are listed generally for under $900,000. Which ever unit suits your needs, I can work to find one with the best price.
