Hawaii Tourism sets new record in January

January arrival figures put the number of visitors to Hawaii at close to 600,000, which is an almost 16% increase from the same time last year. The State Department of Business, Economic, Development and Tourism also said that there was about a 10.7% increase in domestic arrivals and furthermore, a 19% increase in Japanese visitors.

The Visitors arriving January also spent approximately $960 million which is more than an 11% increase from January 2004.

The number of visitors increased on all the islands with the Big Island receiving the biggest gain, close to 32.7%.
