First time unemployment clams in Hawaii fall by 20%

For the week ending September 15th, Hawaii’s first time unemployment claims fell by 20% according to data released by the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.  Maui had the biggest fall at 39.1% compared with last year.  Followed by Oahu at a 21% decline.  Statewide there were a total of 1,903 claims filed and that was down from 2,380 claims filed in the same week in 2009.
