Hawaii Kai a great place to call home

Hawaii Kai is a diverse community at the eastern point of the island of Oahu.  Only a 30 minute drive to downtown Honolulu.  This has been a very desirable a place to live for many years.  There are many different little neighborhoods housed in this community from golf course front town homes and marina front single family homes each with a dock, to high rise condominiums and high end luxury homes.

This year the market has been rather good to Hawaii Kai.  Although there are fewer homes on the market as compared to last year, the median sales price of single family homes has risen over 7%  to $889,000 showing a relatively strong market in this otherwise weak economy.

Why is this place so desirable?  For starters, a Buyer can get more house here for the same dollars than they would closer to Honolulu.  Second, there is a tremendous amount of shopping available including one of the island’s 3 Costco stores. Next, many activities in the water including all types of boating and surfing.  I am sure there are many many more reasons, but this area gets breezy which is wonderful to keep cooler during the warm Summer months.
