Up and coming neighborhoods: Na Pali Haweo

Na Pali Haweo in Hawaii Kai has always been a bit prestigious to live in, but it went through a period of generally being ignored in favor of neighborhoods closer to Kahala and Diamond Head.  This has changed as buyers are discovering the beautiful views and potentially undervalued properties.

Na Pali Haweo means cliffs of distinction and it certainly is true.  Many of the homes on this ridge have lovely views of the ocean and coastline from Maunalua Bay all the way to the back side of Diamond Head or they face the other way and have stunning views towards the Ka Iwi Channel and on clear days can see Molokai.

The trigger was the sale of  102 Hoolako Place sold for the bargin price of $2.2 Million an almost new 4900+ square foot, 5 bedroom, 4 bath home on a half acre.  From the time of this sale Buyers began to take notice of this neighborhood.  Just in the past two weeks there have been 3 homes go under contract:

First 145 Hoolako Place went under contract after being on the market for a mere 25 days.  The stately home had been marketed before, but after the $2.2 million sale down the street this home became very attractive.  This 4000 square foot, 4 bedroom, 3 bath home was priced at $1.395 million.

Then just today, two homes on one street went under contract.  One property , 145 Hoahana Place, was listed at $1,5 million and had been on the market for 88 days.  The  3,122 square foot home with 4 bedrooms and 2 and one half baths sits on nearly 13,000 square feet of land.  The the other home, 137 Hoahana Place, was marketed for 26 days before going under contract.  The contemporary, eclectic designed home has 3,553 square feet, 3 bedroom and 3 and one half baths.  This home is a real show piece.  The short marketing time likely means that the owners will get close their asking price.
