Boutique hotel coming to Haleiwa?

The city of Honolulu is giving Kamehameha Schools until Thursday to decide if they have interest in acquiring 6 parcels of land on the mauka side of Kamehameha Highway in Haleiwa next to Jameson’s Restaurant.  Kamehameha Schools had given the properties to the City for a possible park.  Now that there is interest in those parcels from local developer Andy Anderson in order to build a boutique hotel, the city is giving time to Kamehameha Schools to see if they want to take the properties back.  Andy Anderson has already acquired the Jameson’s parcel, but has said that if Kamehameha Schools take the other 6 parcels parcels back then he will not pursue plans to build the hotel.
