Hokua condo luxury below $2 million!

The Hokua at 1288 Ala Moana is arguably the most luxurious condominium in Honolulu.  Because its superior location directly across from Ala Moana Beach Park, all units have ocean views. Seeing the beautiful Ala Moana Beach park along with the ocean only enhances the view.  Depending on the direction of the unit, views can be towards Waikiki and Diamond head or towards Kewalo Basin and towards Honolulu harbor.  The staff on duty in the building go out of their way to make your living experience truly enjoyable.  The stellar amenities solidify the experience.  Taking all of this together it is no wonder why the Hokua is so popular.

Hokua condo prices continue to rise

Prices continue to rise in the Hokua on a year over year basis. Looking at the availability of units below $2 million is a different story. The current inventory shows that there are only low floor units and high floor units available. Over the past couple of years all of the middle floor units that have come on the market have been snatched up quickly. Looking at the past years at the declining number of available units under $2 million shows that prices are continuing to gain strength. In fact, it seemed that the trend would continue and the days of finding a Hokua unit for less than $2 million were nearing an end. Not so fast, though.  The Hokua and it’s large spacious units, the wonderful amenities and the special VIP treatment still has units for less than $2million. In 2010, there were 12 units that sold under $2 million, in 2011 there were 11. In 2012, there were just 4 and so far this year there has been only 2. The median sales price in the building has risen a total of 13.3% over the past couple of years. This number is slightly deceiving when considering that last year Unit 15C sold for $1.9 million. This year I represented the Buyer for 11B which my client bought for $2.1 million. Despite there being higher offers competing my client got the property!  (Ask me how I did it!).

So, there is still a rare opportunity for living at the Hokua for a lower price.  Ocean views from all of the units make virtually any unit and great unit at the Hokua.  Every unit gets the top notch service and amenities that owners enjoy.
