Number of new short sales on Oahu appear to be slowing

The number of short sales of single-family homes on Oahu appears to be slowing.  Looking back at the past 6 months, the number of short sales listed as being active has slowed.  It appears that the peak of new listings of short sale properties was in September with 35 new short sale listings, with October being only 24.  November, while, not being over, is at 18.  With Thanksgiving coming up it is expected few listings will be introduced to the market.  Whether this is simply a pause in the short sale activity or a sign that the improving market encourages homeowners to hold onto their properties longer remains to be seen.    This combined with the shrinking inventory and rise in the median sales price from $600,000 to $605,000, I look at it as a bullish sign for the Oahu housing market
