National Realtor meeting forecasts positive growth for 2010

At the National Association of Realtors (NAR) convention in San Diego, California, a group of panelists of some of the industry’s leaders all agreed that they see positive growth for 2010.  They all foresee that there will be steady rise in existing home sales in the coming year.  One of the big keys that will aid in this positive trend are the tax credits for first time home buyers and tax credits outline for some “move up” buyers.

Also at the convention, Lawrence Yun, NAR chief economist, said that the outlook for housing appears to show that we on a path of sustainable recovery.  The improvement is enhanced by the tax credits now being offered.  In a national survey it was shown that 47% of buyers this year were first time home buyers and that was up from 41% in 2008.
