Waimanalo real estate for sale

Waimanalo is a special area of the island of Oahu. This rural area on the Windward side is placed privately between the dramatic Koolau mountain range and beautiful Waimanalo Beach with only the highway along the coast, Kalanianaole Highway, bringing traffic in and out of the area. There are large parts of land that are for agriculture and there are significant tracks that are Hawaiian Home Lands (meaning that you must be at 25% Hawaiian ancestry to qualify to own these properties). With a population around 10,000 and perhaps 50% of the people here are Hawaiian, the true aloha spirit abounds here. Families in Waimanalo are more interested in being outside together and enjoying life rather than hanging out at a mall in Honolulu. Tourists come through enjoying places like Keneke’s plate lunch. It is really a special place. There are several areas to consider when looking for a home here.

1.  The beach lots have homes that are on the makai side of Kalanianaole Highway. Every home is just a short stroll to beautiful Waimanalo. There are also beach lots that are closer to Makapuu. One of the properties is the estate used for filming the television show Magnum P.I.

2.  Large agriculture lots in the valley – Most properties can have homes. Perfect for those wishing to farm, have horse, cattle, or just enjoy the country life.

3.  Some more affordable condos and small homes – scattered around near the commercial side of Waimanalo tucked in here and there are homes with smaller lots and a few condo projects that are a more affordable option for living on the Windward side of Oahu.
