Waialae Iki is a ridge above Kahala and the Waialae Golf Course. Most of the homes in the neighborhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s. These are typically homes with high peaked open-beamed ceilings. The vast majority of homes have four bedrooms, and the lot sizes are about a minimum of 7500 square feet and up. At the top of the ridge is a gated area called Waialae Iki V (Waialae Iki Five). This is the fifth phase of development on the ridge, and it occurred much later than the previous four. This area is unique. The lot sizes are larger, and the homes started to be built here in the late 1980s. The homes here are custom designed. The community here is gated and has security, tennis courts, and a clubhouse.
