Diamond Head is a neighborhood in the region of Diamond Head. This neighborhood is located along the flanks of Diamond Head. The area is comprised of both condominiums and single-family homes. One of the nicest parts of this area is that many properties have ocean views and are located adjacent to Waikiki and Honolulu.

The most notable condominiums in this neighborhood area:

Kainalu - The Kainalu condo is located at the very end of Kalakaua Avenue, one of the most well-known streets in all of Honolulu. The Kainalu is positioned between a group of condominiums and the start of some very pricey homes on the slopes of Diamond Head.

Colony Surf - Colony Surf condo is formerly a cooperative along the ocean on the Diamond Head coast commonly referred to as the gold coast.  This is a wonderfully popular condo primarily one-bedroom and studio suites. The amenities are minimal, but the best assets are the gorgeous ocean out front and famed Michele's restaurant on the ground floor.

Diamond Head Apartments - Diamond Head Apartments are an exclusive oceanfront condo along the Gold Coast in Diamond Head. Designed by world-renowned architect Vladimir Ossipoff, the building set a new standard in modern architecture.  The building is designed with at least two units per floor that feel as if they are cantilevered out over the ocean.

Colony Beach - The Colony Beach is one of the lesser-known buildings and yet, one of the best. Located on the Waikiki side of the Colony Surf, it is a special building with one luxurious condo per floor. This is the height of personalization.  It is an exclusive boutique building that everyone wants.

Tahitienne - The Tahitienne condo is a boutique condo along Kalakaua Avenue. This is one of the best buildings on the ocean along the Gold Coast on the slopes of the Diamond Head.

There are beautiful luxury homes in the area.  Some of the most desirable homes are located on the following streets:

  1. Makalei Place - This is a single road above the Diamond Head lookout has some stunning views over the ocean. This is a very desirable street for anyone that knows Diamond Head.
  2. Kulamanu Street and Kulamanu Place - These are coveted streets. Some of the homes are still older homes from the 1950s and 1960s. However, more homes have been rebuilt or extensively renovated. There is a public beach access at Kulamanu Place.
  3. Noela Drive - This street along with all of the nearby streets such as Gail Street, Noela Place, Owena Street, and Diamond Head Circle are part of a small section of large homes on the slopes of Diamond Head above Kapiolani Park. Homes here are stately and many have tree-top views of the ocean and view of the lights from Waikiki.
  4. Kaimanahila Street - Sitting above famed Kahala Avenue, this is a quiet neighborhood.  Most of the properties are at least 10,000 square feet of land. The vast majority of homes are from the early 1960s with some having been re-built.  If you find a home on the makai (ocean) side of the street you have the best chance of having an ocean view.
