The developers of the 300 block of houses on Iliaina St constructed drainage systems along the back boundary of the lots parallel to Iliaina to facilitate water runoff to the storm drains at Iliwahi and Ililani to Mokapu Blvd. The owner noted this in his research and built additional drainage systems around his home and yard. This is a terraced lot with a solid hollow tile retaining wall at the back constructed with rebar and concrete filling every other cell and has a French drainage system to boot. (The ceramic tile floors were installed in the 1990's) 345 Iliaina lot was chosen as it was a little higher in elevation to the lots on either side so that it drained well, besides the fact that the Mokulua islands could be seen from the home.
