This has been our private paradise for over 13 years. We've loved every minute living here and it holds so many memories that it is making it very difficult to leave. As you arrive at the property, you see the stone wall in front enveloping the property. Then, you drive down into the property, so you are below street level where you have privacy from your neighbors by the fences surrounding your property that is fully landscaped with trees and plants. Trees include pink and yellow plumeria, Norwegian pine, many different palms, bamboo, avocado, pomegranite, lemon and tangerine trees. Plants include banana, papaya, hibiscus, boganvillia, night blooming jasmine, ivy, bird of paradise (haliconia), ginger, tea plants and poinsettas to name just a few. The backyard is totally private where you can go skinny dipping if desired in your in-ground pool! The home's outdoor areas are set up for complete enjoyment. The tiled deck around the pool gives vast areas to relax and sunbathe, have a pool party or barbecue and invite your friends, or just have fun jumping in and out of the pool! The huge backyard deck provides the perfect atmosphere to sit and watch the boats coming in to Kahului Harbor, the waves crashing on shore, or the vivid colors of the countless rainbows. The side screened in deck is a perfect refuge for guests staying in the master suite on the first floor when they want to relax and read, or just enjoy the breezes while watching TV. If you like cooking outside, there's a fire pit by the pool, and a smoker in the side yard, just outside the garage back door. When you are inside, you totally enjoy the spacious family/living room - large enough to seat all your guests, or the biggest family get togethers! We even have a murphy bed in the dining room when 3 bedrooms are just not enough! Waking up in the morning is always a joy, since you are captivated with huge ocean and mountain views from the 2nd master suite on the 2nd floor. Then, as you start down the stairs, you can't help but stop and enjoy the picturesque views through the picture window on the stairs. When we purchased the home, we removed the existing garage and added a large 720 sf garage with lots of windows and many work areas. Above the garage, we built a gorgeous A-frame ohana with wood floors and lots of windows to enjoy the plentiful ocean and mountain views. Over the years, we've remodeled the home and yard a little each year, making it our own private paradise. The deck around pool was tiled in 2012, pool pump was replaced 6/2015, sand filter replaced 3/2017, and 2 new pool sweepers - one in 11/2016 and 1 in 3/2017. The backyard was renovated by adding block walls in 2014. Photovoltaic panels were added for both the house and ohana in 2013, new solar water heater replaced in 2011, all appliances in 2011, and new flooring in almost every room. The back deck was built with trex flooring that is supposed to last with no painting needed. The home was tented in 2/2004 and then again in 12/2010. I would suggest tenting on a regular basis. We would love to sell our home to someone who will enjoy the home as much as we have. The only reason we are selling is because our grandchildren are getting older and we are missing their childhood! We will miss Maui tremendously, but we don't want to miss another minute without being close to the kids and grandkids! The home is not perfect, but it has more than set the stage to making most of our dreams a reality! If we could only move this property, these views, and the climate back to PA, life would be absolutely perfect!!
